Show Us What Africa Is Wearing in November

Designers, makers, models, stylists and fashion storytellers. Consider this your invitation!

November has entered the group chat wearing something fabulous.

Across Africa, the fashion calendar is filling up. Kenya opens the month with Eco Fashion Week Africa Season 4 from 1–7 November, bringing together circular design, business, culture, education and community action across Nairobi and the Kenyan Coast. Namibia follows with MTC Windhoek Fashion Week from 4–7 November, while Accra takes its turn with Glitz Africa Fashion Week from 10–13 November, under the theme Sustainable by Design. In other words: Africa is not short of fashion stories. We would simply like to know who is telling yours.

Your Work Deserves More Than a Scroll

Fesheni Africa exists to celebrate African fashion from where it is actually being created.

Not Africa translated into somebody else’s aesthetic. Not culture watered down until it becomes vaguely “inspired”. The people making the clothes, styling the shoots, shaping the faces, photographing the moments and building the businesses should be part of telling the story.

That is why Fesheni.info is opening its Journal door wider this November.

Fesheni Africa is a magazine, marketplace and movement, with Fesheni.africa serving as the editorial magazine and Fesheni.info as the home for designers, partners and press. Its guiding idea is simple: African fashion should be shown authentically, with heritage and modernity allowed to sit comfortably at the same table.

And yes, they look very good together.

So, Who Are We Looking For?

If you are a fashion designer, clothing brand, model, stylist, photographer, make-up artist, artisan, jewelry designer, retailer, fashion school, creative collective or fashion event organiser, we want you to Show Us What Africa Is Wearing

  • Perhaps you have launched a collection.
  • Perhaps you are reviving a craft your grandmother would recognise but giving it a silhouette she definitely would not.
  • Perhaps you are turning discarded fabric into something worthy of a second entrance.
  • Perhaps your runway happened months ago and everyone admired the clothes but nobody asked about the idea behind them.

Tell us.

The Fesheni Journal is designed for designer spotlights, sustainability stories, fashion-week dispatches and the people shaping African style. Full editorial features then live on Fesheni.africa.

November Is Our Month to Discover

Throughout November, Fesheni Africa will be looking out for new talent, new collections, interesting businesses and fashion stories from Kenya and across Africa.

  • We want the finished photographs, but we also want the sketchbook.
  • The fabric choice.
  • The mistake that became the idea.
  • The artisan behind the finishing.
  • The reason you made it.

Great fashion gives us something to talk about after we have looked away.
